Recently, I built my first "responsive" Drupal website. I also decided to add some HTML5 to the mix, so you'll see HTML5 elements like section, header, etc in the markup. Plus, we threw in some nifty web fonts and a cool one-page slider effect just for giggles. Actually, we did it on purpose, but you know what I meant!

We all know that Facebook is the dominant social network of the moment. Three or four years ago, MySpace was the king of social. Currently, there are a multitude of social websites each with a varying purpose. The list of social sites like Twitter, FourSquare, Instagram, Skype, etc seems endless.

I just got back from DrupalCon Chicago and I'm super excited about all the great stuff I learned in Chi-Town. I'm going to post a more in-depth look at my DrupalCon adventure, but this "Initial Thoughts" post will hit on the key takeaways I had from the event.

I keep asking myself this question. I become especially curious when the buzz about new mobile devices and their ability (or lack thereof) to play Flash is mentioned.

The Drupal 7 upgrade of my site has been completed. A few hiccups along the way, but overall, not too shabby.
I'd still rather upgrade a Wordpress site over a Drupal site, but for the extra horsepower you get out of Drupal, I guess it is worthwhile.
I'm going to post a few thoughts, suggestions, and tips that I learned after my upgrade to help any of you out there who may be thinking about upgrading your Drupal site(s).
PS: If you notice any bugs, go ahead and post them in the comments and I'll get them fixed ASAP.

Well, you'll notice I'm rolling a new theme on the site. Don't worry, this theme business is only temporary as we make the port from Drupal 6 to 7. Hopefully you'll only see this theme for a day or two, then we'll be back to regularly scheduled programming.

Myspace, I know what you're thinking, that's sooo 2007. Sure, the Myspace enrollment numbers went into the tank and Facebook has become the social network of choice. However, I actually think Myspace has found it's niche...MUSIC. And, to a much broader extent, content delivery.

Before I get too far along with this post, let me say this, I am NOT a paid spokesperson. Now, on with the blogging...
Over the past month or so, I've been very fortunate. Sitepoint, one of my favorite web developer resources has been offering a ton of outstanding training materials at amazing prices. Here's what I've been buying:

Nope, no Apple fan boy here. But, as a tech guy, I did want to post what I thought were the most interesting bits of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
First, and foremost, I thought the top news of the day was the AT&T upgrade offer. Second, would be that they're offering an 8GB iPhone 3GS for $99. Facetime and the HD video recording options were definitely cool bonuses. I also found the numerous references to PDF across iBook and other Apple software amusing, and I'll get to that in a minute.
